Soho Radio is breaking out of London and New York for a summer party broadcasting live from Marston Park in Somerset!
Founded in 2014, this influential, award-winning radio station broadcasts 250+ shows a month, live from London and New York, playing awesome music to the world. This July, they’re bringing us live headline performances from DJ Yoda and Norman Jay MBE. Come on down, let the Good Times roll.
A LatinX powerhouse, Desta French has emerged from the growing London music scene, proudly flaunting her Latin American heritage with an unmistakable London attitude. Having grown up in Camden Town to immigrant Colombian /Italian parents, Desta’s music is a blend of RnB, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Soul, which culminate in her own distinctive sound.
Ash Rah is a DJ, radio host and artist manager. He’s honed his DJ skills over a 10-year career, sharing the stages with the likes of Gilles Peterson, Nicky Siano, and Danny Krivit to name a few. He has played in clubs and festivals across the world. As well as the day-to-day management of artists such as Eddie Chacon, Norman Jay and Dennis Bovell, Ash hosts his weekly Inhabit show on Soho Radio. His DJ sets are deep and eclectic, whilst traversing different rhythms and textures from around the world.
An international headlining turntablist, DJ Yoda finds fresh and unique ways to bring the turntables out of clubs and into the world and has worked with creative heavy hitters such as Dr Dre, Banksy and of course, The Jungle Brothers. We can’t wait to see how DJ Yoda interprets the unique space and atmosphere at Marston Park!
Mid Nite Life’s style of music, whilst rooted in the Indie Dance scene, retains core elements of Rock, Rave & Hip Hop that delivers an energetic sound, punctuated with powerful lyricism and acerbic social commentary. Their combined experience has seen them do the lot; from roots in pirate radio, running labels and events to touring the world, whilst stopping off at Glastonbury Festival several times to reign as Sunday night soundclash champions. Mid Nite Life is the fusion of their high energy performances with a new production style, direction and attitude.
We welcome one of the most respected and popular DJs around, national treasure, Norman Jay MBE. Co-founder of the legendary Good Times Sound System and London dance music station KISS FM, Jay led the ‘Rare Groove’ club scene and will be bringing his Soho Radio show and the ‘Good Times’ party to Marston Park.
Hailing from Breadminster, Elijah Minnelli focuses on the expansive timeline of West Indian and South American music, with specific focus on the genres of calypso, cumbia, reggae and dub. His signature mix of the tropical, the crucial, and the whimsical demonstrates Elijah’s unique perspective on these sounds and traditions.
