Start-Up Tools #3 – Developing Your Enterprise Idea

21st Apr 2020 @ 09:30 - 14:30

Free

Your starting idea for an (social) enterprise or project is often just the tip of the iceberg – it may have come from what has inspired you, what you believe your customers or beneficiaries need, and usually a whole lot of assumptions about why people want your product or service and how you can make it work.

This workshop will introduce tools for developing early-stage enterprise ideas, building on market research. It will introduce the Lean Canvas tool, approaches for testing or prototyping your ideas, and basic skills for financial forecasting and testing the viability of your concept.

You will leave with a practical plan on how you can further develop your enterprise idea.

The workshop is for people who would like to work with others to realise a community-focused business start-up/project or realise initiatives within existing organisations. It will also provide useful tools and approaches for group leaders and facilitators who want to work with teams to set up community enterprises or projects, or who want to explore replicating edventure in their town.

About This Series of Workshops & Edventure: Frome – A School for Community Enterprise

This content of this workshop is part of Edventure’s curriculum in community entrepreneurship, a collection of tools & competencies for working with others to create enterprises that benefit the wider community and tackle local social or environmental issues.

Individual students have also gone on to set up initiatives such as Tiger Mylk, the Chester Food Assembly and the Pitney Farm Cafe & Shop, or to work with social employers such as the Mendip Health Connectors or the Bristol Adventure Playground.
