Join us at Make:Shed for our Stitching Taster Session – the first of three workshops, to begin a collaborative stitched art work which we’ll work on over the coming weeks.
In this first session we’ll be concentrating on learning some simple textiles techniques. You’ll be guided through Applique, Embroidery and Fabric Painting processes in preparation for creating your own unique textile design in the next session.
No previous experience necessary, all tools and materials will be provided. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, this session is perfect for all levels.
Learn textiles techniques in preprepration for creating your own unique design
Design and create patches which will combine to form a shared art work. Learn methods for joining patchwork pieces, and the context of patchwork.
Complete your individual textile sample, and explore how to bring our individual pieces together to create a shared art work. We’ll discuss methods for joining fabric pieces as well as learning about the context of patchwork.
Make:Shed is a weekly workshop & community for young adults (18-35-ish) in Frome and surrounding areas. It’s a safe, welcoming space to be yourself, connect with others and express your creativity. We run workshops every Thursday, 6-9pm at the Edventure Hub, Frome.
Whatever creativity sparks your joy, you’ll find a place to express yourself at make:shed.
