The Brutal Logic of Climate Change: Finding Courage in the Climate Crisis.
Just how worried should we be about climate change? What does the latest science say? And what should we be doing about it?
Dr. Aaron Thierry gives an overview of the latest science of climate change, making explicit the connections between the physical and ecological changes already taking place with their impacts on human welfare. This analysis reveals that current emissions targets are not anywhere near ambitious enough to avoid extremely dangerous alterations to our environment.
The talk will also demonstrate the capacity for humanity to change by exploring how we have addressed previous challenges and also examining examples of action around the world that are already taking place. We will finish by exploring what we can do, as individuals and societies, to contribute to the great transformation.
This talk is suitable for a general audience and will be followed by a question and discussion session. You can all voice your own opinions and ask any questions that you have about the topic.
This event will be taking place at Frome Town Hall on Monday 18th February 7.15-9.00 pm.
We are in the process of redeveloping the Discover Frome website, and invite you to share your views on the current site with us.
