Terence Fisher was the most respected and successful director at Hammer Films during the company’s heyday, between the late 1950s and early 1970s. He is famous for a large number of classic horror films in the Gothic style, not only the best of the Frankenstein movies but they also include Dracula, The Curse of the Werewolf, The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Phantom of the Opera. Tony Dalton, author of the new biography The Art of Terence Fisher, will be giving a talk about Hammer’s classic Frankenstein films as well as the genesis of Hammer’s horror films followed by a Q&A session. This will be followed by a showing of cult Hammer horror film: Frankstein Must be Destroyed.
