A creative day for families in the peaceful setting of The Good Heart in Palmer Street. The workshop is designed for any children who can use scissors along with their parents. Its aim will be to create tissue paper images of all the things that are important to us and that represent our connections with others in the family of life, and then to build them up in layers on the front window of the cafe to be illuminated and enjoyed as part of Frome’s Window Wanderland 2022.
The day will be divided into two sessions – from 10am to 12pm and from 3pm to 5pm – with space for lunch and a break in between. It will be helpful (but not essential) to bring an image you might like to cut around, which could be anything from a tractor to a butterfly. Wear your not-best clothes and bring your favourite scissors (if you have some) with your name or an identifying mark on them. All other materials will be provided, although donations towards costs will be welcome.
The workshop will be led by Roz Dunwell, who describes herself as “Teacher Potter Grandmother and Gardener.” Roz has also been the coordinator of the Heartspace morning meditations at The Good Heart since the first lockdown started in April 2020.
There is space for a maximum of 25 participants so advance booking is essential. NB: parents must stay with their children during the workshop.
This event falls within the celebrating kindness theme in the festival.
