We will hear Oscar Wilde’s classic story of The Selfish Giant, who wouldn’t let the children play in his garden. Winter moved in, instead, until he learned how kindness could make his garden a happy place again. We will then have a chat about the story.
All children need to be accompanied by an adult. Please be prepared to sit, listen and enjoy.
NOTE TO PARENTS: The giant does die (very peacefully) when he is very old at the end of the story, so please judge whether this is OK for your child.
Suzy Howlett says “I am a retired teacher, and still love sharing stories with children.”
