Trio Paradis Cafe Concert: Flower Gardens at Christ Church

Trio Paradis play a Café Concert on the first Thursday of each month (Feb-Dec) at 1.15pm at Christ Church: informal feel-good music events with a pop-up café open from c12.45pm where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes and listen to live music. It’s c£3.50 for a drink and a cake.

June’s programme is inspired by flowers and gardens, with plenty of roses (from Schubert Heidenröslein to Fauré Roses d’Isphahan and Strauss’s Roses from the South…), meadow flowers by Danish composer Rud Langgaard, and violets from Croatian pianist-composer Dora Pejacevic and English songwriter Muriel Herbert. Lili Boulanger’s lovely piece D’un Jardin clair also makes an appearance.

Concerts last c45mins and entrance is by donation. There’s no need to book, just turn up – maybe bring a cushion for the pew!
