This moderate 2-mile walk will visit Frome’s Commonwealth War Graves. There are over 50 Commonwealth War Graves Commissions (CWGC) graves in Frome – dates range from 1915 to 1947. They are located in St John’s, Holy Trinity, Vallis Road (Dissenters Cemetery), and Christ Church. The walk will visit these locations, finishing at Frome Memorial Theatre which houses the Town War Memorial containing 224 names and is also the home of the well-known Charlie Robbins statue – a Great War (World War I) veteran.
Dr Jim Clipson, a Royal Navy veteran, will lead this walk. Dr Clipson has visited the 224 graves of the Great War men from Frome listed on the Town War Memorial in a remarkable research project cycling across Europe.
This walk is unsuitable for children under 12 and dogs.
There is a suggested charitable donation of £5 per person for this walk. After administrative fees, at least £4.72 of your £5 donation will go to the Trussell Trust.
