Women of Frome is a walk based on the 2022 Frome Museum exhibition of the same name that highlighted the lives of women from the town that were pioneers or excelled within their field.
This is the re-scheduled walk when snow stopped play back in March.
Frome Town Guide Lisa Kenwright has created a special edition of the walk that focusses on women of Frome known for their role in social reform. From educational reformer Clara Grant to Emma Sheppard and her work with so-called fallen women at the workhouse, we will visit sites where they worked and lived, putting their lives into historical context on the way.
We will meet at the Cheese & Grain and finish at Ecos Court off Weymouth Road, a walk of around 2.5 km or 1.5 miles including some steep slopes.
Lisa Kenwright is a local historian and storyteller.
Tickets cost £7.30 (including fees).
