Wool, woad & water – a creative walk through the cloth trade

Wool, woad & water: Christina Sanders (Creative Walkshops) and Carolyn Griffiths, author of ‘Woad to This’ combine forces to curate a creative walk through Frome’s historical 18th century wool industry.

A playful and captivating immersion into the town’s cloth trade, drawing on the senses and imagination as we wander between weavers’ cottages, wool drying stoves, mills, and meadows, re-imagining the lives of weavers and cloth-workers.

The walk stops at sites of specific imaginings to encounter echoes of the past to inspire you to write, sketch and weave.
