Service prepared by the Christian women of Zimbabwe. This is a really lovely act of worship with the theme of ‘Rise! Take your mat and walk’. A very positive theme for a country that has had a very difficult historical time. We will reflect on the difficulties and unrest that have plagued their country over many years. However, it really is a lively service and they have hopes for the future and invite us to support them as they continue on their journey towards full reconciliation.
World Day of Prayer is an international inter-church organisation which enables us to hear the thoughts of women in all parts of the world: their hopes, concerns and prayers. The churches of Frome are supporting this and taking part.
The day is celebrated in over 120 countries with nearly 120 languages sharing the same Service. It begins in Samoa and travels throughout the world, through Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, before finishing in American Samoa some 38 hours later.
Everyone is welcome so, please join us and also share in the refreshments in the hall afterwards. Some parking is available at the church and also at the bottom car park of Wesley Church. In addition, we have kindly been given permission to use the front of the Memorial Theatre. However, if you can car share, use the bus (getting off at The Memorial Theatre) or are able to walk, that would be a great help. Thank you. Jean Fraser, Frome Branch Secretary
