Events Calendar Round-up: April 2023
Spring has sprung and we head into April with the usual jam-packed calendar of events in Frome kicking off with the Frome Independent Market on Sunday 2nd.
And with the Easter weekend just around the corner, we’ve also put a separate list together of things to keep the kids entertained over the school holidays.
Here’s our round up to give you a taster of what’s happening this April.

Samana – 6th

Made in Tennessee – 14th
Country fans are given a taste of Nashville with Made in Tennessee – The soundtrack of American Country.
Made up of some of the UK’s finest country musicians, the Made in Tennessee band takes you through the decades of the music genre, from Country’s origin in the Southern States of America to modern day Country heard around the world.
An Evening with Richard Lennox – 15th
Richard Lennox is a fast emerging classical crossover artist. A virtuoso Musician who plays everything from Bach to the Beatles, Musical Theatre to Rock and Roll and just about everything else in between.
Frome Wessex Camera & Photographic Fair – 16th
The South West’s Largest Camera & Photographic Fair returns to the Cheese & Grain.
Cameras (digital, modern & collectable) lenses, filters, flashguns, film, paper, books and old prints.
Over 30 stands selling everything camera and photographic related only!
Door to Door Poetry – 21st
Rowan McCabe is the world’s first Door-to-Door Poet.
Knocking on strangers’ doors, he writes poems for them, for free, on any subject of their choosing. It’s a bit like the Avon lady, except with rhymes.
A show about trust, class and community, this funny and thought-provoking mix of theatre and spoken word tells the story of what happened to Rowan on his trip around the country.
Dreadzone – 21st
Dreadzone head to the Cheese & Grain as part of their 30th anniversary tour.
Core members Greg Dread and original bassmaster Leo Williams with legendary reggae vocalist Earl 16 are joined by Bazil on technology and Blake Robert (Greg’s son) on guitar in the 2023 Dreadzone live line-up.
Inspiral Carpets – 22nd
Inspiral Carpets perform in their first set of live shows since 2015. The shows will be “A celebration of the music we created, which has brought so much joy to people over the last 34 years”.
A vital component of the infamous ‘Madchester’ movement, Inspiral Carpets formed in Oldham in 1980. Known for hit singles such as ‘This Is How It Feels’, ‘Saturn 5’ and ‘She Comes in the Fall’, they remain much-loved not only in Manchester but across the UK.
CSF Pro Wrestling – 23rd
CSF Professional Wrestling returns to Frome with another action packed edition of ‘IT’S SHOWTIME’.
Experience an afternoon of high flying, gravity defying, body slamming, action packed entertainment as twelve larger than life stars do battle in five Pro Bouts.
Bird Identification walk – 29th
Enjoy a gentle walk through Willow Vale and Rodden Meadow listening, looking and identifying the wild birds.
Led by Dan Lupton for FROGS (Frome Recreation and Open Grounds Supporters).
Peter Hook & The Light – 29th
Peter Hook & the Light First revisited Joy Division’s seminal album “Unknown Pleasures” back in May 2010 for a commemorative charity concert. They followed it each year with new albums performed live from the repertoire of Hooky’s bands, New Order and Joy Division.
This performance will be a celebration of the Joy Division albums Unknown Pleasures & Closer.
