Events Calendar Round-Up: April 2025

Hello April and another events calendar round-up 🌞 We have another busy month ahead, packed full to the brim of exciting and engaging events around town. Get inspired by our round-up; enjoy community gatherings, live music, time spent in nature and so much more.

What’s on this April

1st April: Canteen

Canteen, Frome’s ‘pay-what-you-can’ community restaurant, is popping up again in Frome, serving affordable, delicious and locally sourced food. The Canteen chefs will be dishing up at the Holy Trinity Church Hall from 5pm – 7pm and reservations are not needed, all diners have to do is pop along any time from 5pm. Food is served until it runs out. And it does!

2nd April: Annual Town Meeting

The meeting is held by the Mayor on behalf of the town and is an opportunity to celebrate some of the fantastic projects that are going on in Frome, with civic awards handed out to people to recognise their contribution to life in our town.

3rd April: Trio Paradis – Spring Song

April’s programme is inspired by the season of spring and includes the recently rediscovered Trio by Austrian Jewish composer Carl Frühling, Gaubert Spring Morning and works by Cécile Chaminade, Ivor Gurney, Frank Bridge and others.

4th April: Big Walk and Wheel Flash Mob

Celebrate Big Walk and Wheel 2025 with a ‘flash mob’ dance session with Mojo Moves. No rehearsal required – come and dance with us! The café will be open for post-flash mob refreshments.

5th April: Bike Jumble

Looking for a bargain bike? New cycling gear or spare parts? Frome Community Bike Project is excited to announce its Bike Jumble Sale on Saturday 5th April 2025 from 10am to 4pm.

5th – 27th April: Photo|Frome 

Photo|Frome returns with the theme ‘inEquality’. Through photography from internationally acclaimed, national and regional artists, we reflect on stories of global and local justice and equality.

6th April: The Frome Independent

Market Sunday is back in town for April. Visitors to the market can find contemporary craft, designer-made homewares, ethical clothing and jewellery, vintage and antique goods, gardenalia, homeware, food and drink from local suppliers and much more.

13th April: Frome Comedy Club

Following another incredible night of comedy, we’re back at The Cheese & Grain on Sunday 13th April with a phenomenal line-up headlined by none other than Seann Walsh!

15th April: National Theatre Live – Dr Strangelove

Seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan plays four roles in the world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece Dr. Strangelove.

19th April: Dawn Chorus Walk

Get up with the birds and enjoy the iconic sounds of the British dawn chorus. Learn to identify common bird species by their calls and songs.

26th April: Spring Vintage Bazaar

A wonderful way to blow away the winter cobwebs and indulge in a bit of eco-friendly retail therapy. At this unique event you can purchase from some of the country’s best dealers in vintage textiles, decorative antiques and French brocante as well as a handpicked selection of designer makers.

27th April: New Moon Fireside Sound Journey

Each new moon, you are invited to gather around the fire beneath the canopy of stars and immerse yourself in a transcendent soundscape with Oyu and a special guest artist.
