Events Calendar Round-Up: December 2024
The final month of the year is almost upon us, and Frome is busier than ever putting on plenty of events and activities to keep our calendars full and spirits high.
We’ve selected a few highlights to give you a taster of what’s on, but for the full run down, have a look through our events calendar or pop in to the Discover Frome Information Point.

Frome has plenty to offer when it comes to showcasing artists and creators’ works – don’t forget to have a look at our collective exhibitions post to find out what you can see this upcoming month.

1st December: Christmas at Frome Museum
The museum galleries will be decked with festive colour and visitors can help Lou-Lou, our very special volunteer, to find her lambs, who have hidden themselves amongst the exhibits!
You will also be able to see the museum’s well-loved nativity scene and a nostalgic array of cards, decorations and toys from times gone by.
6th – 14th December: A Christmas Carol, The Musical
Ebeneezer Scrooge and his ghostly encounters come to life in this lavish and thrilling Broadway adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
Following their sell out show of Elf the Musical last year, Merlin Theatre Productions are excited to be back with another hit musical and keeping all things Christmas!
7th – 8th December: Christmas Tree Festival
Leigh on Mendip’s beautiful 14th century village church will be filled with sparkling, brightly-lit Christmas trees to usher in the festive season. Entry is free and delicious light lunches, home-made cakes and refreshments will be available on both days.
13th December: Burnt Sugar Supper Club
Join us at the beautiful Vallis Farm for a winter’s night of seasonal food made with local ingredients.
Brought to you by Dominique Göltinger, ex-head chef of Little Walcot, Eight Stony Street, At The Chapel, Maremma and the renowned Bistro Bruno Loubet at the Zetter Hotel, along with partner Emma. Guests can expect relaxed modern European food, with a fusion of Asian ingredients.
19th December: Dirty Laundry Christmas Special
Live storytelling and spoken word poetry night with open mic. Christmas special, featuring stand-up poet, rabble-rouser and owner of ‘England’s most pretentious moustache’ – Jonny Fluffypunk. Plus, writer, artist and historian -Amy Jeffs: author of Storyland, Wild, and her new book, Saints. Also, a stellar open mic lineup of storytellers and poets.
21st December: Frome Town Band Christmas Spectacular
In what is becoming a lovely tradition at Christmas, Frome Town Band brings a multigenerational Christmas Concert to The Merlin Theatre. If previous years are anything to go by you won’t find a more Christmassy Christmas event in town!
Enjoy Frome’s very own community brass band, showcasing the players of the future and come prepared to add your own voice in a singalong selection of carols and traditional tunes.
23rd December: Merry Christmas themed Musical Theatre Workshop
We will be running a Christmas themed musical theatre workshop on Monday 23rd December for children reception age and over. You will have the opportunity to learn Christmas songs and some dance movements.
28th December – 4th January: Sleeping Beauty
Step into a fairy-tale world of magical castles, good fairies and a beautiful Princess.
With mesmerising music and a wicked spell or two, don’t miss this DREAM of a pantomime.
Featuring all of the best-loved panto shenanigans live on stage, an abundance of laughter, special effects and plenty of audience participation. The perfect festive treat for the entire family to enjoy.
