Events Calendar Round-Up: March 2025

March – the month of the spring equinox. Hang on in there, brighter (and hopefully warmer) days are coming! Take a look out our monthly events round up to get inspired, keep busy and have fun.

What’s on this March

Until 15th March: Solidarity / СОЛІДАРНІСТЬ Exhibition

An exhibition that showcases the artwork of five artists local to Frome and seven Ukrainian artists displaced across Europe or within Ukraine. This exhibition will span the third anniversary of the full scale invasion of Ukraine by showing a selection of artwork created by all twelve artists since July 2022.

2nd March: The Frome Independent Market

Back for its first market of the year and ending a couple months’ hibernation, the Frome Independent Market will pack Frome town centre full of artists, makers, designers, artisans, chefs, producers, entertainers and so much more. The Magpie Market is also taking place in the Cheese & Grain from 9am – 2pm, so why not make this Sunday the ultimate market day?

5th March: Frome Town Band Open Rehearsal

Bring along your instruments and give Frome Town Band a try! Their open rehearsal is designed to welcome visitors to come along and see for themselves what Frome Town Band is about – and who knows, maybe you’ll end up staying.

6th – 8th March: International Women’s Day events

Subject to change (if there are any further events), International Women’s Day brings a variety of events to Frome over the course of a few days, including a discussion forum and a concert inspired by female composers. Take a look at our IWD25 guide to find out more.

14th March: Heal the Land

Heal the Land follows the start of Heal Rewilding’s journey establishing its blueprint nature recovery site near Frome in Somerset. This documentary showcases the evolving landscape and reveals its beauty and resilience, focusing on some of the wildlife which has already begun to benefit from the changes on site.

15th March: The Fifth Frome Faerie Fair

The Frome Faerie Fair is the place for you to celebrate everything fae and fantasy with the magical fairy folk. If you enjoy fairy tales or fantasy, why not join us and awaken your inner magic? Bring a fairy friend if you like, real or imagined!

15th – 22nd March: The Kindness Festival

Celebrated annually, the Kindness Festival is a unique celebration of the transformative power of kindness. Frome will come alive to celebrate the contribution that kindness makes to our relationships, to our mental and physical health and to our marvellous community. The festival will offer something for everyone; bringing local people together in fun, magical and uplifting ways.

Frome Busks22nd March: Frome Busks

Young musicians from Frome College and Selwood Academy will fill the town with music once again on Saturday 22nd March. From 11am – 2pm, the musicians will work their way around amplified and acoustic stages in the town centre, including the Westway precinct, Boyle Cross, outside the Cheese and Grain and Catherine Hill, playing 15-minute live music sets.

26th – 29th March: The Wizard of Oz Junior

After last year’s sell- out run of Matilda jr, Selwood Academy return to the Merlin this year with The Wizard of Oz : Youth Edition.

30th March: Frome Symphony

Frome Symphony present a night at the movies for our Spring 2025 concert! A wonderful selection of film music including the music of John Williams, and from films such as Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and more.
