Events Calendar Round-up: September 2022
It’s a jam-packed month for events in Frome this September with comedy, literature and music events aplenty!

Black Pig: Artist Printmakers Exhibition – 2nd – 2nd October
The Black Pig Printmaking Studio combines professional printmaking through open access to studio space with teaching. This exhibition at Gallery at the Station pulls together a large body of work from Black Pig’s local printmakers.
Rode Comedy Festival – 8th-11th
Somerset’s greatest littlest comedy festival is back for a third year. Set in a beautiful Somerset field at Pitch Perfect Camping there are four days of side splitting comedy to enjoy.
Enjoy comedy from some familiar faces including Alan Davies, Ed Byrne, Ninia Benjamin, Jen Brister and Paul Sinha and many more!
Dave Gorman – 9th
Dave Gorman is hitting town with brand new material for one night only at the Merlin Theatre. In a Work-in-Progress special, he takes a mischievous look at modern life. Dave will share his observations and frustrations with a little help from his laptop.
Crimes on Centre Court – 9th
Multi-award-winning New Old Friends are touring another dose of mirth, murder and mayhem, this time with a side of tennis.
Lord Knows the chair of The Whombledun International Invitational Tennis Tournament has died and his son, Hugh, is suspicious. The police won’t take the case so Hugh calls in Perry & Penny Pink, private investigators.
Frome Agricultural & Cheese Show – 10th
The Frome Agricultural and Cheese Show returns for another day of traditional Agricultural Show activities with the added attraction of the Global Cheese Awards!
There’ll be plenty of entertainment for all the family, with a music stage, inflatables and fun fair, falconry and sheepdog displays, country and lakeside pursuits, a family dog show and much much more.
Great Big Green Week – 11th- 18th
Kicking off with Cycle Sunday, including the annual Frome Bike Jumble, Great Big Green Week returns with a wide selection of events celebrating our green spaces and offering ways to take action to protect it. From guided walks and foodie events to climate action and craft sessions, there’s something for everyone.
Frome Lit Fest – 16th-23rd
This September sees the first Frome Lit Fest celebrating all things book! This year’s festival – hopefully the first of many – is bubbling over with big ideas, big dreams, big journeys and simply brilliant books. Hear from a range of authors including Alan Johnson, Amy Jeffs, Elizabeth Macneal and Andrew Miller.
Laurence Jones – 16th
Said to be the UK’s hottest young blues guitar-slinger, Laurence Jones brings his cross over sound of coruscating riffs, soloing and catchy songs to Frome.
Laurence Jones has won several major awards and accolades, played at some of the most prestigious venues in the world and supported the likes of Sir Van Morrison, Sir Ringo Starr, Status Quo, Buddy Guy and Jeff Beck.
Somerset Festival of Transport – 24th-25th
The Somerset Festival of Transport returns with two days of entertainment including Tiger’s Children Motor Cycle Display, dog show, fairground rides, trade stands, toy fair, crafts, 1940s tearoom and much more.
Emergence Festival – 30th-2nd October
The Emergence Festival returns to Frome this autumn with the Silk Mill and Black Swan Arts hosting a weekend of music, art, workshops, family activities and creative nourishment.
