February half term fun for all the family in Frome

February half term is almost upon us, after what felt like a January eternity (or maybe that’s just us). Looking to fill your calendars? Then look no further. There are a variety of fun events happening in and around Frome to give you and the family something to look forward to. Take a look at our What’s On page for the full rundown of events.

Throughout half term: Lamb feeding at Palette & Pasture

Enjoy a group session with the opportunity to feed three gorgeous little lambs at Palette & Pasture, all throughout half term. There are limited sessions and spaces are filling up quickly – it’s a popular feature – so be quick to secure your tickets if you’re keen to have some lamby cuddles!

15th, 18th, 20th and 22nd: Frome Window Wanderland workshops

Needing some tips and tricks on how to make your window display for this year’s Window Wanderland? Then head along to one of their handy workshops – just take with you the measurements of your window(s) and any ideas or reference images you’d like to work from. All workshops are free to attend, and there are a selection of dates. Click the options below to see which sessions are suitable:

15th: Frome Faerie Fair

Calling all fairies, witches, wizards, hobbits, elves, dwarves, unicorns, goblins, trolls, dragons and other magical folk! If you like fairy tales and fantasy, or are a fan of Narnia, Hobbits, Harry Potter, fantasy worlds or fairy tales, then come along and re-kindle your inner magic.

15th: Young Illustrators Club

Bring your doodles to life! Artist and book creator Jenna Herman will share new skills each week – from book covers to collages and comics. You can drop in to just one session, or come along to all of them. These sessions are designed for children aged 8 – 13 years old. There will also be free hot drinks and cosy area for grown-ups and siblings.

16th and 23rd: Kindness Makers workshops

Are you looking for something fun, friendly and fulfilling to do on Sunday afternoons over the winter? Clio and The Good Heart team will be hosting Kindness Makers Workshops (12+) where you can enjoy creative tasks such as making banners and badges, decorating kindness jars, knitting/crotchet and more. No need to book, and tea and cake plus materials will be provided.

18th: Home Ed Hangout

A weekly get-together for home educated primary-age children in Frome. Kids can play, develop skills and simply hang out with friends. With coffee and cakes right next door at Rye Bakery, it’s a hangout for parents too. Expect crafts, Lego challenges, Beyblade battles, theatre games, board games, table football, retro consoles, comics, circus skills and lots more!

18th: Baby Boogie

Baby Boogie is all about stories and rhymes for children up to 12 months. A fun session to share with your baby and meet other new parents, at Frome Library.

20th: Moana musical theatre workshop

Danceworks are running another fantastic themed workshop this half term for children reception age and over. This musical theatre workshop is based on the Disney film Moana – children are encourage to wear their favourite Moana costumes and come prepared to learn new dance moves and songs.

21st: Story activity morning – The Gruffalo’s Child

Have you ever imagined stepping into the snowy world of The Gruffalo’s Child? Join us on a magical family adventure where you and your little ones will journey through the enchanting forest alongside the Gruffalo’s Child in her search for the ‘big bad mouse.’ Meet forest animals, take on their roles, and experience beloved story moments through interactive activities! Designed for children aged 2 – 7 years old.

21st: Toddler Takeover

We go however high the kids take us.; expect silliness, bubbles, dancing, chasing, spinning, sensory play and rocket rides. Fridays often turn into a bit of a party! We invite parents to be as involved as they like. Either sit and enjoy a coffee as your kids join us, or jump in and play too. Next door to The Awesome Studio you’ll find coffee and delicious snacks at The Rye Bakery.

21st: Arcade Fridays

Ever wanted to race your child on Mario Karts or bash them on Street Fighter on the Super Nintendo? Ever wanted to show them the original Sonic the Hedgehog, or show them how you had to blow on an old games cartridge to make it work? How about whipping them on Kerplunk, or Subbutio, or Battleships? Now is your chance.

23rd: Raving Rascals

Get ready to rave, Frome families! Raving Rascals is back at the stunning Rook Lane Chapel for another unforgettable event. This time, we’ve got something extra special lined up for you and your little ravers!
