Get ready for shopping and outdoor dining
As Frome’s independents prepare to reopen their doors next week, here’s a brief look at what’s changed, what’s new and what’s on offer.
Frome’s Rotary Clubs will be opening a pop-up charity shop in the old M&Co premises in the Westway shopping centre on the 14th April. The store will be selling a mix of homeware, furniture, books and bric a brac, with the majority of profits going to support local charities and deserving causes in and around Frome.
Pop in to Beadz Bazaar who will be giving away a large bag of beads to the first five customers who spend £20 or more.
Although they’ve been open as an essential shop throughout lockdown, Not Just Pets are also celebrating the reopening of the high street with a sale in their new premises at 1 Market Place. Visit their Facebook page to see what’s on offer each week.
Keeping our fingers firmly crossed for warm weather, Monday also sees the opening of cafe and beer gardens.
The River House cafe have relocated to the Black Swan Arts where, from the 12th April, you’ll be able to soak up some spring sunshine in the beautiful courtyard garden and sample their delicious range of brunches, bakes and cakes.
Having spent many years supplying furniture and decorative pieces to cafes, bars and restaurants, French General Trading are opening their cafe and offering coffee and croissants or a glass of carefully selected French wine in their outdoor seating area.
The garden at Rye Bakery on Whittox Lane will be open from for brunch, coffee and lunch items, 9am-2pm and will continue to offer takeaway coffee, sandwiches, pastries and bread.
Flow Bar will be launching their new spring/summer drinks menu plus a daily happy ‘2 hours’! Limited outdoor river-view terrace tables are available to book as well as takeaways.
Tibetan Memories will be offering limited outside seating in addition to their continued takeaway menu. Hesperian Fish and the Archangel will also be open for outside dining.
On the horizon, local takeaway favourite, Burrito Boi will be putting some roots down in Frome, with plans to open a new restaurant in May. Watch this space for more details.
Hairdressers and beauticians will also be welcoming customers back. Why not treat yourself to a bit of pampering and try out one of the new facial packages on offer at Emerald Florence.
When you’re out and about, please respect the individual shops’ requirements for mask-wearing and hand sanitising.
