As we approach April, meaning Easter holidays for many, parents and carers will be on the hunt for local activities and events to keep the whole family entertained. With two weeks to fill, Discover Frome have put together a handy roundup full of fun, so you can pick and choose as you please. Take a look at our What’s On page for the full rundown of events.
Throughout the Easter holidays: Beckington Scarecrow Trail
For the 9th year, head to Beckington to take part in this amazing scarecrow trail. This years’ theme is Heroes and Villains! You can buy maps from The Woolpack Pub, or download from the QR code on posters around the village, or from the Friends of Beckington First School Facebook page.
5th April: Baby Rock Sampler
Missing live music ‘cos you can’t get a babysitter? Baby Rock Sampler is heading to new music venue The Tunnels, perfect timing for the school holidays, bound to get the whole family dancing! Tell your mates with kids.
6th April: Easter Chocolate Fair
The Cheese & Grain’s popular Chocolate Fair is back for an Easter egg-stravaganza! A fair full of wonderful chocolatey delights. A chocoholics paradise. This market will be filled with lots of different chocolate, cake, bakes, treats and cookery sellers.

IG Sports Coaching LTD Football Camp aims to develop children’s ball mastery skills & technical footballing abilities through fun & exciting games alongside playing matches through-out the day. All groups are lead by our qualified and experienced coaches!
7th and 8th April: Easter Forest Club
7th – 10th April: Pro Coaching Easter Camp
Pro Coaching’s Multi-Activity Camps feature sports, arts, food education, swimming and enrichment, designed for all. These camps provide an enjoyable way for kids to learn new skills, make friends, and have fun!
7th – 11th April: Multi-Activity Camp
With a wide variety of sports, games, and activities to experience, Premier Education’s Multi-activity Holiday Camps are designed for children of all abilities. Each child will get the chance to develop and improve both physical and cognitive skills, as well as building confidence and self-esteem.
7th and 16th April: Nova Sports Football
Fun, inclusive football sessions on astroturf with specialist Nova coaches! Two sessions to choose from, both taking place at Frome Town United Football Club.
8th April: Home Ed Hangout
A weekly get-together for home educated primary-age children in Frome. With coffee and cakes right next door at Rye Bakery, it’s a hangout for parents too. Expect crafts, Lego challenges, Beyblade battles, theatre games, board games, table football, retro consoles, comics, circus skills and lots more!
8th April: Fundays
Fundays is great for children that have an interest in a bit of everything! Children will take part a wide range of activities which includes multi-skills games, quizzes, arts & crafts, party games & classroom games. In line with OFSTED guidelines, children will have periods of free time where they will be offered activities they can chose from (board games, playground games, card games etc).
8th and 15th April: Play (and Stay?)
Play (and Stay?) offers parents the chance to work from the Vallis Farm House whilst your child / children (aged 8-12 years) are entertained on the Farm.
8th, 9th, 16th and 17th April: Easter Park Fun
All planned activities will be outdoors based and will include physical games, obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, Easter crafting, observing wildlife and nature in the park and much more.
9th and 15th April: Shared Earth Learning Activities
Nature based activities and play incorporating nature-studies, crafts, gardening, games, shelter-building and simple campfire cooking. Child led games and activities to enhance environmental awareness and appreciation of the outdoors.
9th and 16th April: Nova Sports Hydrotherapy
Shared family swim sessions in warm water for young people with physical / learning / sensory disabilities. Max 8 people in the pool. Private hire available on request.

11th and 18th April: Toddler Takeover
We go however high the kids take us.; expect silliness, bubbles, dancing, chasing, spinning, sensory play and rocket rides. Fridays often turn into a bit of a party! We invite parents to be as involved as they like. Either sit and enjoy a coffee as your kids join us, or jump in and play too. Next door to The Awesome Studio you’ll find coffee and delicious snacks at The Rye Bakery.

11th and 18th April: Arcade Fridays
Ever wanted to race your child on Mario Karts or bash them on Street Fighter on the Super Nintendo? Ever wanted to show them the original Sonic the Hedgehog, or show them how you had to blow on an old games cartridge to make it work? How about whipping them on Kerplunk, or Subbutio, or Battleships? Now is your chance.
12th April: Little Pickles Market
Every market is unique and offers a great selection of items from prams to babygros, books to play gyms, bouncy chairs to wooden toys, toddler clothes to baby carriers, welly boots to swimwear, the list goes on and on.
13th April: Top Secret: The Magic of Science
Fusing the mystery of magic with wondrous and miraculous feats of science. Hang on to your seats and experience a non-stop action-packed interactive magical science show with experiments and magic that will capture the imagination.

Party dancing with PDJ disco. A visit from the easter bunny. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. All children will have a lunch bag. And an Easter egg to take home. Bar will be open for hot and cold refreshments.

Go clubbing at the Cheese & Grain… with your kids! Expect meet & greets from all of your little ones’ favourite characters, giant inflatable balloons and a whole load more!
