Kick start your Christmas Shopping at this month’s Frome Independent
The nights are drawing in, Bonfire Night is just around the corner, we’ve dusted off our thermals and are layering up to keep cosy! Pumpkins, toffee apples and fireworks aside, gift buying season is rapidly approaching, so why not head along to the penultimate Frome Independent of 2022 on Sunday 6th November to get organised early?
Lots of the traders offer special deals on market days, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get festive gifts sorted – and you can feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that you’ve helped an independent producer, rather than a global brand!
This winter more than any it’s so important to look after each other, and that includes all creatures great and small. Local wildlife group The Wild Bunch will be joining us outside the library where visitors can make bird feeders using apples, sticks and sunflower seeds – the ideal low-cost gift for your garden and nature loving buddies.
There will also be examples of bird and bat boxes and info about how to make one at home. Somerset Wildlife Trust will be on hand too with lots of natural wonders to wow us with – beautiful birds nests, skulls and more – plus info about how they are looking after some of Somerset’s most iconic landscapes and special wildlife; restoring, strengthening and connecting habitats and green spaces so nature can recover and thrive in the future.
Organisers had to postpone the inimitable Boss Morris all female Morris Dancing side during the October market due to very damp weather – but fingers and toes crossed for a crisp sunny day on 6th November, when they will be performing a special Autumnal Hop at the following locations during The Frome Independent:
12pm – Village Green (near Frome Library)
1.30pm – Market Place (outside The Blue House)
There’s also another super line up for you on the Market Place Stage this month:
11am – Out of Order
11.45am – The Fab Twins
12.30pm – Jimmy & The Girl
1.45pm – Belle Street Singers
2.30pm – Ginger Sun
Come along to The Frome Independent from 10am until 3pm, on Sunday 6th November in Frome. Admission is always free!
